Clean Up Day

Some of the folks seen touting a wash rag and cleaning cloths were Steve Teague, Pat Maccolini, Al Fox & Ellen Blair, Dave & Kathy DeStefano, Maureen DeStefano, Mary Morrison, Patrice & Jim DeStefano (and kids who often help out), Kyle & Laura Minnich,

Lots going on that day and an awful lot was accomplished. The floors were cleaned, waxed and polished. Most of the woodwork was cleaned and polished. The bar was completely cleaned up but surprisingly it wasn't as bad as I would have thought. Maureen has been keeping an eye on it and routinely cleans up as she is doing other things at lodge visits. Windows and mirrors were sparkling, the pool table had a good scrub down and it needed it. All of the tables and chairs were gone over.
The place looks very nice now. Ellen changed the flowers on each of the bar room tables the other night while we watched the Eagle trounce Washington. Yea Baby! Jimmy added and fixed some of the trophies and plagues too.
"We-Are, batta-bump-ada-bump, Ea-gles!"

Al !

If you missed 'Clean Up Day' you can still help out by grabbing a towel and spraying a mirror or cleaning a table. Every little bit goes a long way in keeping our Lodge a nice and fun place to be in.

Grand Lodge - proposal to amend our constitution
At the Grand Lodge Convention in July, a proposal to amend part of our constitution was passed then had to be voted on by each Lodge. We voted at our meeting on Sept. 5 and it also passed. I am sure it will become part of the constitution once all the votes are in. The change is to article VII section 4 as follows:
Original: "Membership in the Order is limited to citizens of the United States of America not under twenty-one years of age, and having such other qualifications as may be provided by Statute."
Proposal : "Membership in the Order is limited to citizens of the United States of America who will pledge allegiance to and salute our flag, not under twenty-one years of age, and having such other qualifications as may be provided by Statute."
Also
Section 14.010 of the Laws of the Order:
Original: "An applicant for membership in the Order shall be:
a. A citizen of the United State of America."
Proposal: "An applicant for membership in the Order shall be:a. A citizen of the United State of America who will pledge allegiance to and salute our flag."
